Working together to tackle bullying

Tuesday, May 3, 2011

Now in its eighth year, Anti-Bullying Week, run by the Anti-Bullying Alliance (ABA) based at NCB, has become a huge national campaign and a regular fixture in the school calendar every November.

This year's Anti-Bullying week will take place from 14 to 18 November. Last year's theme was 'Taking action together', which looked at the role of the community, and this year's theme will be announced later this month. We will be updating the ABA website with more information on how to get involved with Anti-Bullying Week as we get closer.

Schools wanting to get more involved with anti-bullying work can now join ABA's School and College Network, a subscription scheme that offers schools and colleges access to tailored anti-bullying information, support and services. The School and College Network offers a range of benefits including a termly newsletter, use of the ABA School and College Network logo, an anti-bullying principles poster and an Anti-Bullying Week pack. ABA has also produced a website - Tools for Schools, which brings together a whole bank of classroom resources relating to bullying such as lesson plans, assemblies and toolkits.
